advice on headliner adhesive!

I plan on replacing the hedliner material in my TA this week. I found some really nice (althought heavy) black vinyl at JoAnn fabrics and was wondering if the 3m super 77 spray adhesive would be strong enough to hold the thick vinyl in place. Does anyone have any better ideas? Oh yeah, and I already bought the vinyl so theres no way I'm switching to a lighter material.

Whatever you decide to use make sure it's made for headliners.
If not you'll just be wasting your time as it'll fall down(droop).

the 3m stuff should be fine, what my dad used on his 76 camaro, but id call and ask an upholstry shop what they reccomment to do it. I got my headliner adhessive from the place i bought the material so then if the adhesive didnt work they would replace the material.

No, no go on the Super 77, I tried using that, and the replacement headliner fell down in high temps. Get the 3M General Trim Adhesive, its in a white can with red letters on it.

there's a tech article on rebuilding or fixing ur saggin headliner, follow that one as best you can, mine hasn't fallen since i made the "improvements" and i'm more than happy w/ the results. He also lists a adhesive to use, and i think that's the one i did. 3M makes good products, and iwouldn't have any problem trusting what they say it's supposed to do, especially since they're like the leading engineer and manufacturer of adhesives.
