I have a 82 Z. I have a chance to buy a 88 parts car. Will these year models innerchange? I am soon to install a 350 hp 350 in my Z. Will a Saginaw Trans hold up to this HP?

Most mechanical parts will interchange..there are slight differences here and there.Body parts also will for the most part..except for ground effects obviously.350hp will be pushing a saginaw to its outer limits..especially if you have rear suspension mods and sticky tires. What are you looking to get off the 88?

I was considering grtting the console and putting in a th350 instead of the saginaw. I have about made up my mind to put new bearings in the saginaw and take my chances. I really dont want to give up the 4 speed! Also would love to change out the spedo.......Hate the 85 mph

The entire console will fit..a bolt in so that is a snap. The speedo can be swapped out easily..I swapped mine years ago for a 145 unit from an IROC.I swapped out all the guages so the style of lettering matched.
