GTA Dash and Wheel
I was wondering if anyone knows how hard it is to switch over from regular gauges to digital gauges and from a regular wheel to a GTA wheel with all the controls? Can you just plug these in as you would any other? Thanks!

no.
Do you want digital guages that "some" GTA's had? or did you want standard 140mph guages that the others had. The key is placement of instruments, if all the instruments are in the same location, makign the swap won't be nearly that difficult, if they're in different locations (fuel guage, oil press, etc) from your factory location then you'll have some issues. The problems lie in the wiring, so, you'll be swapping wiring to different connectors in order to get the results you want. AS far as the steering wheel goes, i'd highly doubt it would be a bolt up (if yo uwant it to work) if you simply want the look, then bolt away, however if you want functionality with the setup, then thats gonna cost you some time. You'd find yourself adding new wiring (as your car most likely doesn't have it) and running that wire between your wheel and your stereo unit, hopefully it's stock, as some of the non stock models won't work with the factory steering wheels either. Ontop of it, if you want it to work, you might have the joys of trying to find a GTA radio that was setup for those types of controls, as i wouldn't be quick to assume that a radio is a radio, and as a result, they were all setup to take those steering wheel imputs.
If you want a digital dash as found in some GTA's, you'll most likely have to grab an entire dash cluster, and not just hte guages, i have a set of guages sitting around at the shop, not sure how much we would part with them for, but they're not doing anything, and unless we do a T/A project at some point and time (which will probably happen) they most likely will be sitting there for a mighty long time.

and i just re-read your post and saw that you "are" looking for digital guages, so, itd be the more difficult of the swaps. not impossible, but definately a lot of work.

I've heard it's possible, but very difficult. Run a search, this has been discussed before. Thanks.

It has been discussed, but definetly not in very much detail. I'm considering writing a tech article, which is long overdue.
