gas guage went all wacky last night.

well to make a long story short, yesterday i installed a fuel pressure guage on my car. Nothing to do with the electrical system. Anyways my gas guage went wacky. I had like 1/4 tank and now it is WAAAAAYYYY over full. I dont have a tripodometer so i need the guage back. Whan i turn the car off it dosent even budge. Any ideas or suggestions?

This belongs more in the electrical forum but..
There is a break in the circuit between the sender and the gauge.
There is a weatherpack just forward of the tank under the car, unplug and test for resistance on the purple wire. If you get a reading (should be between 0 & 90) the sending unit is fine and it's a problem inside the car.
If you don't have a multimeter, ground the terminal that corrolates to the purple (undercar weatherpack connector), turn the key on and see if the gauge goes to empty. If it doesn't, same thing, problem in the car.
Could also be a connection gone bad at the cluster. Many possibilities of what it could be, you won't know exaatly which one untill you start poking around. That's just my random thought for the day though...
