Who says firebird gauges won't fit in a camaro

Well, here you go

Wasn't exactly a direct drop in, but they fit and they look pretty good IMHO.

The whole thing started when I broke my driven gear housing when I was dropping my trans down. No boneyards around here have them, and it's dealer only to the tune of $70. I picked up a vss for $50 new, had a gauge pod laying around from a 91 formula, and got a 730 ecm, a bunch of relays, fuses, connectors, and switches all for $25. So now I have some cool gauges, and an almost infinately tunable .ecu file to play with

I still have some cleaning up and finishing to do on the pod, but the pics give a pretty good indication of what it will look like. Only thing I don't like is that now instead of having two tachs, I have two water temp gauges. Both of them work though

you should put a stock camaro or firebird tach where that firebird water gauge is..would look a lot better.

nah, if I put the camaro tach in then the speedo would look really out of place. If I put the bird tach in then I don't have an oil pressure gauge.

I also forgot to mention that this setup is just to hold me off until I graduate. Then I'll be getting a full suite of autometer gauges and making an aluminum bezel for them.

So at this point it's function over form for some stuff.

Try a firebird tach and a camaro oil pressure gauge in place of the stock water temp gauge.

I'm not diggin' it.

I understand it only to hold you over, but were you not able to find 'maro gauges?

At least straighten out the speedo, it looks cockeyed.

hehe...I said "cockeyed"!

I still have some cleaning up and finishing to do on the pod

The camaro gauges that use the electric speedo are all on one board, the bird ones are all seperate still. Would have had to cut the dash itself to get the 91-92 camaro pod in there. Plus, like I said before I had this one sitting around already. Didn't cost a penny for it.
