Curb Rash

This isnt third gen, but it is F Body. This is the only place I know people will be able to help. I took body shop in high school, Im in Non Structure repair now in college, but im not quite sure what to do.

Its a 99 BLack WS6, sexiest car ever IMHO... anyways its got some new curb rash on the bottom of the door on passenger side. That looks easy to sand out and finish off, but just behind the door between the tire and door it is deeper. Anyone know how thick you can use bondo without running the risk of it falling off and taking off the new paint? What about stud welding/slide hammering it out then smoothing it out... any ideas?

Thanks

You want to try and use as little bondo as necissary so if you can get some of it out with a slide hammer go for it. You shouldn't use any more then 1/4" of bondo. If it's just some deap scratches you should try some glazing putty, but if it's a dent try and get it as straight as possible without bondo then apply bondo and block sand.

But since it's a 99 and aparently the rest of the car is in perfect shape, i would get it done professionaly.

ya, we prolly will, but its really not too bad. its not quite 1/4 inch deep in the bad spot. How go about painting? would you have to paint whole door and such? Black isnt a hard color to match...
