is it hard to put a whole new radiater support in a camaro?
hey guys.... bad luck for me i guess...
well about a week ago i was in a hurry one night on my way home doing about 95 mph and i hit a deer... the deer got hit on my drivers side part of the front end.
any way it trashed my fiber glass cowl hood (literaly exploded into a million pieces) the head light bezil is smashed along with both drivers side head dlights, radiater leaks now, the drivers side running light is gone, and the drivers fender it tweaked a slight bit.
now for the not so bad but bad to me part i liked the fact before that my car was never recked and had no bent metal any ware... but when i did this it pushed the radiater support all the way back to the AC pump ( well about two inches from it but bad enouph) any way i got it all straitend out by pulling it all back out by tieing a toe strap to it and then hooking a polaris ranger to it and having a friend gentaly push the gas till it pulled the radiater support out to fairly straight again... any way i can right now bolt on new parts and i know it willall look good but when u lift the hood you can tell the head light pocket part on the drivers side is still tweaked but good enoupgh to ware everything will line up. but you can still tell.
im wondering how hard it is to down the road weld in or what ever you have to do a whole new radiater support so it looks liek it was never smashed when you look close... i guess i dont realy need to but its the fact that i know i have a tweaked support and to me i hate knowing that its not right.
so about how much would a body shop charge me to do this if i took everythign off the front end and i then hooked everything back up when they were done. also i was thinkign i could get a good one out of a donor car.
as is you will never know that it ever happend but i do know it and you will be able to tell when you look at it when the hood is up and eventualy i wanted to put serios money intot his car and make it a semi show/go car that i will want to look nice.
am i crazy for wanting to replace this even though you wont be able to tell unless you are realy lookign for it?
also i found a complete head light bezal with all 4 headlights and all mounting hard ware out of a junk yard off of a sport coup for 75$ is this a good deal?
i would have taken the hood too but i want atleast a z28 hood to replace my cowl hood ( i miss that hood it looked so bad ***)
lesson learned dont drive pissed and in a hurry in the car that you love and meens a **** load to you

Did you replace your radiator? If you haven't you should. They can't be 'fixed'; I tried. Held for about a day & then started leaking again.
The support bracket that it sits on, it's very important that it isn't messed up. If it's been 'boogered' and straightened out that weakens the metal & needs to be replaced. The radiator with coolant\H2O in it is heavy.

the radiater support part of it is fine and wasnt bent at all... the only part that was bent was the drivers side head light pocket part of the front end but i have since then straitend it all out.
i just ment that now when you look close you can tell i have hit soemthing before.
also i agree i think i am going to spend the extra cash and by a whole new radiater cause ill be driving this car to Texas in january wich is 1800 miles one way so i dont think i am going to be able to trust the radiater that far.
