looking for a new steering wheel

Well months ago i drove a viper with a steering wheel i absolutly loved. I was so taken a back by the whole experience that i forgot to check who the wheel was made by. This is the only obscure picture i have of it.

Now i was checking through the major steering wheel companies and the only similar wheel ive found is made by omp. I really really like the shape of this wheel but the two things im worried about is first of all as you can see the wrap for it is "suede leather" and im not sure how that would look and feel in person. Also im worried about the size its 320mm which means 12.6"

Well the half circle design is mainly for leg clearance at the bottom, not a big issue with my car but being 6'0 180 pounds its not the easiest thing in the world slipping into my car.

For me when i got in the viper i thought that steering wheel felt awful, but after an hour of driving it feels perfect so i came to like it from using one.

The wheel is definitly not the stock wheel. And again the reason for the design is for leg clearance. Im fairly certain its from race cars where there is so little space to begin with that they do everything they can to make more space.

This is getting off topic though. I'm mainly looking for comments on the materials used for the omp wheel im looking at. And comments on how difficult i might be making my life by going with a wheel that small or if it would be liveable on our cars. I want to go a bunch smaller then stock but dont have any experience as to whats going to be too small.
