fiberglassing new door panels
I will be starting on my door panels later on this week. I had originally planned on installing a 4th gen interior, but have recently changed my mind and decided to 'glass my own panels from scratch. This way I can form my own pods for my component speakers and have the whole door panel one piece and the way I want them. I will post pics once I start and more as I progress.

im really interested in these, as mine fiberglass panels are about a 1/3 done. i installed a 4th gen interior, and dont like it at all now that it is done. so im making new fiberglass peices for the whole interior...
what are you using to make the "shell" of the panel? are you using the factory method of holding the door panel to the door?

thats basically how i am making mine. however i started with plexiglass, and then used a mixture of mdf and 1/16" steel rod for a frame work for everything such as arm rests and speaker pockets.
are you going to paint or cover them?
it takes a lot of time to get everything to look right, but in the end it should look great
anybody want to buy a 4th gen interior for a 3rd gen:lala:

I will probably cover them using Dark Charcoal colored Allante vinyl. Fiberglass takes time to finish out just right, especially if the piece is going to be shot with paint. Plus, being covered in material will match the rest of the interior better. Let me know how yours are coming along.
