new paint next week, got questions
Acrylic enamel base coat (black) with DuPont clear. Do I need any kind of flex additive for the urethane parts?
Car is NOT going to bare metal, factory clear is coming off, fixing and dents and dings, and spraying over the factory base. Plus a little extra eye candy along the way, but I'll have pictures later.

The flex is for if you are painting the bumper covers off the car without the braces supporting them, so it will flex till you get it on the car, not long after, the flex agent is gone, its only for assembly of a disassembled car.

U sure about that? Not trying to say your wrong. I might be. I know the reducers come out. But i thought the flex stays in. I know i let some clear dry that had it in it and i was able to bend it and it did not crack.

I was told that just because a part is made out of urethane, it doesn't necessarily mean it will "flex" in common use and therefore, no agent necessary...
That said, I've had urethane painted parts peel without it, though.

I don't know. How i look at it is SEM makes a flex and its like 20 bucks. give or take a few bucks. Its not going to hurt anything useing it. And if say someone bumps or sits on your bumper U will be glad u spent that 20 bucks. Rather than getting cracks and haveing to spend 100 buck or so to fix and repaint it.

I never used it when I painted mine and I 've had no problems. If you want to use it just for ease of mind then spend the few bucks more to do it,like said above,it won't hurt.

But that something COULD hit the car, things that you have no control over... People just don't give two S##ts anymore about another's property...
Animals COULD run in front of you at the last second with no chance of getting stopped or out of the way...
Stones thrown from another car...
All things that can shatter paint on a flexible part...
who wants their pride and joy, that they've spent countless hours and money on to be destroyed by somethig so small, when it really takes no extra time, or money in the grand scheme of things.
87, Very nice ride by the way...
