Damnedest thing. It worked, then it didn't. So now I have to roll down my window and open it from the outside to get out. Will be as easy as just takin off the door handle thingy and checkin it out?

I had the same problem on my car when I first got it. Just get a new handle, and in the future, don't put much force on that handle. It's flimsy.

Thanks. I never put much force on the handle itself at all. Prolly the first owners, they didn't take much care of the ol' bird.

Similar problem a couple years ago... with my car, the rod that connects the door handle to the mechanism that latches/unlatches the door was bent from years of use and slipped out of the mechanism that unlatches the door...

I would second the rod idea, it is common in these cars for those rods to drop, more so if the does not have power locks. easy repair though, but most likely the rod.
