Buying a 84 z28 with 89 body

I can get a 84 z28 with a 89 body its got t-tops ,pwr windows ,locks no a/c and a 305 auto. The guy wants $600cdn for the car with 2 sets of rims the body is good but he said it needs come floor work. Now I found this car when he pulled up beside me at a light ,he gunned it and i gunned it and he automaticlly took the lead on my 88 tpi 305 i guess that means it has a L69?

anyway should I buy this car? its painted puprle and has a good body.

can you afford it? If anything you can use it for a parts car, or now you can have one as a daily driver and one as a weekend warrior...

These cares are unitized construction, there's no body to take off, so how could it have an 89 body?

Maybe. His rearend gear ratio probably had something to do with it. My former '85 Z28 305TPI made more HP and torque than my current '84 Z28 L69, but with 3.73s in my current ride it comes off the line alot quicker than the '85 (3.23s) used to.
