quick questions about door-1/4 panel clearance
Just wondering, I have seen some camaros with sagging doors, and seen the result after the repair, (you can no longer lift up the door by the handle, and it closes nicely), but my car (82 T/A) has a slightly different problem: Opening the drivers door snags the quarter panel and bends it a fair bit before it finally "bangs" loose... I'm worried about chipping off more paint, as well as bending the panel. I was wondering, since that particular quarter panel is a new replacement one (before I owned the car), could this be related to sagging doors, badly adjusted doors or badly adjusted panel? I tried adjusting the panel, but it is TIGHT against the front nose clip (which I think is pushed in slightly from a previous accident), and i'm not sure if i'm doing it right..
Any ideas? Is this fairly common? Thanks
