What color is my car?

It is a really light teal almost a seafoam green. Everyone at F-Body Motorsports said they have never seen a third gen that color. The only other car I have seen this color was a C4 Vette. It is the stock color so if anyone knows what it is called please tell me! I want to repaint it and since it seems to be a rare color I want to stick with it. It's nice not looking like every other Camaro I see.

The cowl tag is a stamped metal plate on the radiator support. RPO codes for your car should be in the locking storage compartment in the hatch area.

Honestly have no idea what "Seaform Green" looks like. :-)

http://www.camarosource.ca/php/camar...trim&year=1992

Could it be "dark teal"?

These are the only colors available. If you have any other color, it is not a factory 1992 Camaro color.

It does not look like any of those colors. It is not dark teal, I see those all the time. It looks almost like Powder Blue but with a greenish tint to it. I don't think it's faded because it is the same inside the doors, under the carpet, ect. The stickers are all inside the door and do not show any signs of being removed and put back on nor is there any over spray anywhere. The guy I bought it from had it since it was new and he said it was always that color. He said he special ordered the car becuase all the RSs that had all the extra options he wanted were all automatics and he wanted a 5 spd. Could he have been able to order the car a different color that GM offered on other cars? I have seen a couple C4 Vettes this same color and a Beretta GT as well, but no Camaros.

IN 1992, the RPO codes were on the backside of the storage compartment lid located behind the left rear wheel in the cargo area. The following colors that might match your paint are "dark green-gray paint code 18 & WA code 9795" available on the RS & RS conv. "Dark bright teal paint code 37 & WA code 9238 available on all models. "Polo green II (med) paint code 45 & WA code 9539 available on the RS & RS conv. Check your RPO tag when you find it and the paint code and WA code will be down near the bottom. There was also a "medium quasar blue paint code 80 & WA code 9544 available on all models.

Well I found out that somewhere along the line it was repainted. According to the RPO codes it was originally black. It also had Z03 which means it is a 25th special edition correct? If so how do I figure out what color the stripes where? I was also obvious it was originally black when we took the fender off. It was black all underneath there and under the gfx as well. So if this thing really is the special edition that means it is worth a pretty penny more than the $2000 I paid for it correct? According to another post about a 25th anniversery heritage edition Camaro he said the NADA lists the car worth $9,000-$13,000! Mine is probably closer to the bottom end of the range but that is pretty cool though. I like the color it is now but I like black too, plus I want to restore it to original condition anyway. So can anyone tell me what color the stripes were on the black 25th anniversery edition Camaros?

Yes and no. Yes it was the 25th anniversary edition because it was a 1992 (All 1992 Camaro's are 25th Anniversary Editions), and No because Z03 was for "Heritage Edition Package" :-)

There was only 1 stripe color for black Camaro'; Red.

It would have been Black with red stripes if it was indeed black.

Not exactly sure where the black is that you're referring to.

The heritige eiditon is really no more different than a regular 1992 Camaro without it. The Z03 was just an appearence package which cost only $175.

The Z28 itself is rare in 1992 if you were to compare the Z28 with a tad over 5100 Z28 coupes in comparison to the 60,000+ RS's in 1992.

There was over 8000 Z03 striping packages purchased which does not make it that rare seeing how that is not too far away from being 2X's the amount of the number of Camaro Z28 coupes in itself.

Defination: 25th Anniversary Edition - ALL 1992 Camaro's were 25th anniversary Edition. 1992 marked the 25th anniversary since the Camaro was first introduced in 1967.

Heritage Edition Z03 - An optional appearence package which sold for $175 which was simply a stripes among other exterior color changes. It was only available with specific exterior colors though since the stripes that went with it was combined with a specific color. The rims color would also change depending on the exterior color. As well as a "25th anniversary" badge.

You can find more detailed information, including all color combinations here:

http://www.camarosource.ca/php/camar...trim&year=1992

Hope this helps.

i think your giving him the wrong info because there was maybe only 5100 z28s with the heritage package but there were many z28s with out it..i think your just being biased because you have a 92 z28...but out of the "60,000 rs,s there was only like 8000 with the heritage package

I honestly don't know what you were trying to say.

What information do you see wrong? The information I posted is correct to the best of my knowlege. Perhaps I mistyped something, in which case I would appreciate it if you could point what is wrong.

I don't understand what me owning a same year Camaro has anything to do with it.

I am not being biased of anything. He asked questions, I replied with the answers.

there were no where near 60,000 rs,s with the heritage package...there may of been 60,000 anniversary editions but all 92s are anniversary editions but there was something like 8000 rs's with the heritage package so there not that uncomon when compared to a z28 with a heritage package

I never mentioned anything about Heritage edition in that sentince. All that I say in that sentince is that if you were to compare the number of Camaro Z28 Coupes ITSELF which was a tad over 5,100 (5,197 exactly) with number of RS's Coupes in 1992 with is a tad over 60,000 made (60,994) then you could say the 1992 Z28 is rare for it's year in comparison to the RS.

I don't mention anything about the Heritage Edition production number until the next sentince

"There was over 8000 Z03 striping packages purchased which does not make it that rare seeing how that is not too far away from being 2X's the amount of the number of Camaro Z28 coupes in itself. "

Hope that helps clear that up

In 1992:

There were a total of:

Z28 Coupe : 5, 197
Z28 Conv. : 1, 254

RS Coupe : 60, 994
RS Conv. : 2, 562

Recorded as being manufactured for 1992.

There more than half the amount of Z28 Coupes in 1992 (5, 197)than there was in 1991 (12, 452).

Many customers were looking forward to the 1993 Camaro and so many elected for the new Generation.

I think he was referring to the number of Z28 coupes made in 1992. According to one source I have, there were 5197 Z28 coupes made and 1254 Z28 convertibles and 705 1LE's made for a total of 7156 give or take a few.

Yes!

It seems my msg's are being SKIMMED read rather than fully read.

I mention "Coupe" and "ITSELF" would should have been clear, but for some reason it's still not being understood. I don't understand what is hard to understand.

Where are you finding the number codes like "9795" from? my RPO codes are all just the 3 digit stuff like L03, and when I use the RPO decoder here at TGO I get "Dark Bright Teal Metalic" but would like to know where I can find the 4 digit number code

thanks.

Look on the RPO sheet near the bottom and you will see a WA code like shown in this picture. Then go to the link shown below and enter that code.

ah! great thanks!

Mine is

BCCC WA-L9238 U9238 82B

My RPO codes are
37Q : MOLDING COLOR, DK BRIGHT TEAL MET
37U : EXTERIOR COLOR, PRIMARY (DARK BRIGHT TEAL METALLIC) (92)

strangley enough that website has different names for it
WA,9238 , 37 DK TEAL BLUE MET
WA,9238 , 37 MED TEAL BLUE MET

The last place I had sprayed has the paint code they used listed on the reciept as
9119 Dk Bright Teal Met

not sure why the number and name discrepencies but I can only hope that if I buy brand X of paint, and give them code 9238 that the last guy that sprayed it matched it right. I does look like a dark Teal metalic color to me.
Its more green in person , but comes out blue in the picture in my signature taken like a day after got sprayed, taken with a kodak disposable camera, after I got a digital camera and took some it looks more green, not sure why.

The reason you see it listed as DK teal blue metallic and medium teal blue metallic is because of the years used. The Dark was used in years 91 - 92 and the medium was used in 91 only. BTW, the website I gave you the link to does not even have a WA code 9119 in there data base for any car manufacturer. It might exist under another paint manufacturers name.

yep I notice that, I looked up 9119 also. I know it was Dupont Paint

found a picture I took with my digital Camera, looks more greenish here but not as quite green as it looks in Real Life, not sure why it looks more blueish in pictures...

The color is turquoise. I think it's kinda cool, and certainly not an everyday color!!!!

hey Abubaca:
can someone make it just say "on probation" under my name but not have all that other crap like not being able to edit my own posts and w/e else there is. basically i ONLY want the words "on probation", but do not want to deal with the punishment of being really on probation. is it possable, i dont really like it saying member, something better would be nice we should be able to put our own sayings or phrase's under there that would be really nice. if its possable could i have "Burning GAS And Hualing AS5!" under my name badseed71386. seriously

Its the same color, the sun was beeming right on the car and reflecting off it, and also the trees were casting shadows all around so its just the lighting.
