Questions About 1992 Power Pulldown Motor

My power pull-down motor on my 92 Formula will pull down, it just won't release. I have to turn the key very hard and it will finally release with a loud "pop." There is no solenoid on the assembly from what I can tell. Did 92's have a solenoid? When I press the release switch, the motor drives the hatch upwards, but it just goes right back down. There is a guy selling one on Ebay for a 91, but it has a solenoid. I guess this won't work on a 92?

Those things rott..i got them on both my camaros, and one took a crap recently. If it wont release try to adjust the mechanism. When it pulls down, does it pull the rubbers down really far and look like it's below the body line at the rear quarters?...if you rip out the back plastic trunk pieces (big goofy looking screws, and the middle piece has 2 small ones on either top of the hole for the latch), and look at the mechanism, there are 3 large bolts holding it on...one on either side and one on the bottom. Loosen all three, and adjust the latch so it pulls down and seals, just not so far that there's too much pressure for the latch to release.

As far as pulling down, it seems to be adjusted. But I don't know if I'm missing a solenoid or not. Does anyone else have a 92 F body w/the pull down thing? If so, does it have a release solenoid in addition to the pulldown motor?? Thanks.

I'm tellin ya..they didnt change nethin within that year..and there's no magical solenoid..check your relay though..the lil black box to the left of the motor assembly..teh only thing i can think of in terms of a "solenoid" is if you have the trunk release in the console..which would still ahve absolutely nothing to do with the key
