bumper painting woes

I picked up some gloss black bumper paint from DuPont(?). Bumped into a dumpster while backing up (ouch). ANyway a 6" x 6" area of black bumper paint came off. I have it all sanded smooth with 400 grit. About to rattle can prime and paint. Little bit shy on funds these days.

Anyway, the prime and the top coat are both for flexible plastic. The top coat instructs NOT to use any clear coat. I assume that some clear is already added as it is a "gloss black" color.

Just wondering if anyone has ever used regular clear coat on flexible parts (i.e bumper) with any success.
