GTP seats
I am on the hunt for black leather GTP seats... the ones in the late models... I love the way they look and how comfortable they are.. anyone ever did a swap with those? or tried to? I want to know in what I am getting into before spending alot of cash on seats...

they don't make black. charcoal grey only, which is a darkish grey, but no one is going to mistake it for black.
The gtp seats i'd say are considerably wider than thirdgen seats, they might physically bolt in assuming the gtp seats would bolt onto the stock thirdgen seat rails, since the gtp seat rails are totally different. However i don't know how they'd do with clearance on seatbelts, center console and the armrests on the door. leather 4th gen seats from a pontiac are a direct bolt in, and they're a similar design and they're covered with the exact same material. might be a lot easier to go that route than to try something much more difficult.

hmm.. maybe you are correct.. I picked up the GTP cause I see them much more often around and they actually go cheaper than 4th gen seats... plus did they do electric passenger seat in 4th gens? as for leather color.. I'm gonna cover them all to match since my interior is rust and grey

i posted about this several years ago. they should work if you can fabricate the brackets to fit...not a hard task. as for the leather....their dark grey is as close to black as possible. have no idea the codes but mine are black compared to my old graphite 4thgen seats.
most yards will give you a few hour turn around, if the place is close take out your passenger seat and bring the car with you to see if it will fit. i should think so and they are much nicer then the 4thgen pieces.
i've even thought of working with the dash and doors since they are so much nicer.........would get old though since the gtp is my daily.
good luck with it.

From my understanding the gm seats should bolt up to any gm track. I might be wrong though. Gtp seats are nice then just get the 4th gen back seats and it be cool.

well, as I said... I will recover the whole seats.. both the front and rear with black leather... so even if GTP seats are grey I don't mind.. and I will keep my original back seats

I have the split up option and 4th gens are very, very hard to come along to in scrapyards here... and their pieces are way too expensive.. as I said before it is the main reason.. well after the fact that I prefer GTP seats.. why I want GTP pieces... plus I have a 4th gen.. so I am trying to steer away from that interior
