Who replaces these...

I broke my power mirror switch and I'm wondering where I can take it to fix it... dnt think a mechanic will do it... doesn't seem right for a body shop, a car stereo place probably doesn't do that stuff... I'm stumped...

do you know for sure that it's the switch that's the problem or could it also be a motor or other wiring? If it's definitely the switch, you can get a replacement easily enough. I may even have an extra around here myself. If it's something you can't figure out yourself and fix, a mechanic should be able to do it. It may not be their bread and butter kinda job, but you should be able to find one that isn't too booked to do it.

no, i know it's the switch because I'm the one that broke it. I accidentally set my elbow right on it and leaned over to clean my dash on the passenger side. As soon as I realized what I had done I heard a snap. It still works except you can't adjust the mirrors to the right and it's crooked. I found a place that sells 'em for like $35 or something but I was just wondering where I could take it to be replaced... I'm thinkin' I'll just take it to the usual place cuz they still have to fix my windshield wipers that they screwed up...

it doesn't get much easier than replacing a switch. Get a replacement using the classifieds here or a junkyard, and swap it in.

I replaced the power mirror switch recently. The two torx headed bolts to the left of the switch are real, the two on the right are plastic. Don't make the mistake that I did and try to unscrew them...lol So the left side has two screws and the right side is sort of like an "L" clip if you will. It's not a difficult swap. If necessary, I think I could take some pictures for you. - Adam

LOL... no, pics aren't necessary, but I have tried to unscrew the plastic thingies b4 not knowing they weren't real obviously. I didn't want to strip them that's why I gave up on trying to change it myself
