I know i will def. need to take cover for posting this, but my question is, has anyone here spray bombed their car in primer / wet sanded ect. and then had it professionally painted? I know this is a terrible thing to do and it will not last long and blahzay blah. I just wanna know who has done it and how long before it started to look like sh*t. thanks. btw ive done plenty of searching on this and i did gather that its a bit of a bad idea (sic) but no one who has done it ever posts their results. And again I deeply apologize to any professional painters, i know this must be like nails through your heads.

....?

Who said it's such a godawful, terrible idea?

I've done it and I am currently doing it. It saves hundreds. Go for it, and do it once and do it right.

Whats the difference if you do it, or pay someone else to do it? as long as you do it CORRECTLY there is absolutly no differance. Since when is saving money, without sacrificing quality, a bad idea?

I've personally been fine with my rattle-can primer results. :: shrug ::

Thats awesome, do you wet sand in between coats of primer? and do you have a preferred brand of rattle? lol also, what grit did you use on the final coat just before you had it painted? I know all this info is available all over this site, in fact i've written it alot of it down, but none of it is pertaining to rattle can primer... id just be interested in your methods when using can primer that had good results, thanks guys.
