Project: door restoration.

I decided its time to work on my doors, they needed some TLC. so I'm coming to you for help to see what products and techniques are gonna help me.

i have removed my armrests to repair them (peeled from molding) and for the meantime i picked up good set from the junkyard that will work till then.

also, the top door trim plastic peice, on both doors, seem to have warped up and away from the door.. hard to explain but if you have the same problem you should know what im talking about. i want to figure how i can push them back down and get them to hold in place.. maybe some type of superglue.

also i wanna know whats a good cleaner to clean my fabric on the doors?

thanks alot.

If you're referring to the door panel cap, it is held onto the door panel proper by about 7 plastic speed nuts. If it's warped on both ends, most likely the cardboard that the nuts are screwed into has gotten wet and the nuts have pulled up through it. If you want to save the panels, you will have to remove them and fix the holes in the cardboard, and reattatch the cap. Can fix the holes with grommets, superglue, washers, or some other system which you invent. Door panels are not hard to remove, I can get one off a junker in < 30 seconds, a bit longer if I don't want to damage anything. There's a great article in the tech section about refinishing door panels. Everything you need is there.
