Dash Tachometer

My stock tach is peged over past 8000 rpm. I have only had it running for a couple min but the tach didnt move. My question is is the cluster messed up or is it just not hooked up right?

Check the white wire coming off the gray connector on the ignition coil. That is your tachometer wire to the dash.
