Once it starts to sag, there is no quick fix. It will need to be replaced. A DIY job or get it done by a Auto Reupholstery shop for a factory look.

Had mine done by Auto Reupholstery shop for the Factory look. Well worth it, now you want the DIY look do a search on this site.
A lot of replies on now easy and good it looks by doing it yourself.

I had the same problem in my old 91RS, everytime I hit a bump, I'd get covered in yellow dust from the back board. I took my RS to an old upholstery guy, he was very cool and told me to do it myself. It is easy as hell. My board was trashed so I found one in a U-pick salvage yard for $12, bought 1 1/2 yds of headliner material, and a can of 3M spray adhesive. I had to remove a few trim screws, but it was a very easy fix and came out as good as if a shop did it. A few pointers, use ONLY 3M spray adhesive the cheaper ones will not work at all, you can use you old backboard, if you carefully peel off the old fabric and if the board is in good shape. Take your time and lay the fabric on the board before spraying the adhesive, you'll get an idea how it will look, and then fold the fabric in half before placing it on the sprayed backboard, work the fabric out from the middle towards the sides of the board, I'd advise buying 2 cans of adhesive, in case you run short, one can was barly enough to do the job.
I've since gone to a 92RS ragtop, no more yellow dust.

On ebay you can find headliner, sail panels and visors kits for like $200. The headliner is a direct replacement piece that is like made of abs or something. I am thinking of going this route.
