Pinch weld damage
The underbody pinchweld on my 84 Z is all bent to hell. It looks like people have been using a floor jack on it for the past 20 years. How do I fix this? Can it be bent back somehow...or do I need to replace the rockers and floor pans to get it right? I thought about just getting a new body shell, but every one I come across has the same problem.

You may be able to bend it back. Cant you tap the lip out slowly with a hammer or is it bent in way too far?? Ive got the same problem and plan on using some folding pliers or a hammer.

A hammer and some sheet metal tools (offset hand seamer) should do the trick.
You may need a chisel or something thin and strong to get the seams seperated from the floorpan if they're really bent in.

i used a ballpien hammer and strightened it right out. looks factory fresh. coated the whole damn floor boards with por15 after. do you have holes in your floor? i know sometimes it gets so bad that they break through the floor boards. if you have holes, patch em up with sheetmetal and bend the welds down to position.

Thanks guys!
I was able to bend the passenger side back using the ballpien hammer method. It looks good as new...or at least as good as I've ever seen on these cars. I think I'm going to have to get one of those offset hand seamers to do the other side though. It's bent down too much.

I've been playing with the same problem
someone used the fender connect as a jack point, totall bent over...
I'm installing Spohn SFCs soon, so I'm POR-15 the pinch weld ands and underneath where the SFC's will go, my pinch welds were all crooked, piece bent over...
I ground off the jack point for the rear, hammers and bent the rest into shape... pulled the front fender off, ground out all the bad rust, had a buddy fill it in with a welder, ground it smooth and POR-15'd that too...
now I just have to do the drivers side (rust is worse there)
