repainting the interior/ changing the color
Hi. I just bought a 1989 Pontiac Formula Firebird, the interior is in excellent condition, but I hate the grey/blue color the paneling and the trim is. I want it to be purple but I don't know the best way to do this. Should I just get a professional to handle it, or are there special paints you can use to DIY. I want something durable, not too expensive, and will look nice. I know how to remove everything in the car.

Yeah you can use some SEM paint to convert your interiors color. Make sure however that you follow their proceedure very well and use all steps otherwise you'll get poor results. I've had a few friends use it to change their interior colors and if used right the paint is on there for good. Also their customer service is pretty good, my buddy had trouble at first so called them up and they helped him out.
SEM Paint
Year One also sells it, but the place I linked has more colors...if you want a custom color you can try going to your local PPG place or any automotive paint place and see if they carry SEM and can mix you a custom color. That is what my friend did when he couldn't find the color he wanted.
