There is nothing wrong with wanting taillights to be different from every other Fbody out there. Why is that being a newb? You tell others to hold their opinions and then you call him a newb. Constructive or rude its just dumb. Let people do what they want to THEIR cars. Like you said he just wants to know where to get them.

Now this is where the topic goes south cause someone went and made something out of nothing. And since we are going this route...Would you put anything that was as gaudy looking as that anywhere else on your car...Chrome is not meant to be 1)plastic or 2)anywhere but under the hood, bumpers, or wheels. Chrome does not fit the look of these cars (underhood or wheels excluded) as there are solid one color streamlined cars or 2 tone with matching colors on the body and ground effects. Smoked taillights I think are alright when the car is the right color for them but bulbous gaudy looking red and chrome does not work on these cars. Not an opinion, it just simply does not look right. Because you like how it looks does not mean that it fits the car. Now if you don't care and want to overlook the fact that they aren't for these cars, go ahead and be my guest. Oh and the name "Altezzas"...thats the name of one of the few cars the actually work on because they are not cheap piece of crap taillights but are nice and made to fit the look of the car.

Personally, I'm a big fan of carbon fiber "altezzas" or whatever you want to call them. I had no idea there was actually a car called Altezza.

I haven't seen them yet, but Iroc2NV had some Mustang altezzas molded into place. He's supposed to have pictures coming soon.

i believe that Altezza taillights should only be on what they were made to be on... the Toyota Altezza. Not civics, accords, mustangs or firebirds. If you want to be different and make some custom taillights, go for it. But don't get altezzas, They are made for Toyota Altezzas and Lexus IS300s and should stay on them and only them.

Sorry Cayse, was just confused i suppose
Jim85IROC:
"How does wanting to look like very ***** out there make you "different"?"
Not making an arguement just stating my opinion once again.
Customization
"very *****" or not its different. They bring a modern look to the car. Just like the White face gauges, or neon gauges or anything else that wasn't put on the car stock or was made post 1992.
Im postivie there is more than one style of taillight available.
Besides
Its not like someone cut out and formed the tail lights out of plexy glass and cardboard, with the install requiring duct tape.

If cars came with Altezza style lights stock, people would want solid color assemblies.
If cars came with white faced guages, then people would be buying "black face guage overlays"
If cars came with clear corners, then people would rush to buy yellow ones.

most cars and trucks do come with white face guages, and still no black insert.
arent clear corners illegal or something? i thought that was the only thing stopping auto companies from not installing them.
to the original question, no i dont know who makes or where you can purchase them. personally id feel dumb if my car needed service and stopped running and now im out of money because i wanted clear tails that do the same job as regular ones.... but hey, their clear

Oops I guess you did =) that is what I get for skimming through the post. His post just caught my eye as I scrolled before I saw the others....oh well =/ I agree though...Altezza's belong on cars that came like that stock, like other Toyota/Lexus cars and I guess the new Altima has Altezza looking lights too. I don't see the big deal about them. To me they just look like cheap chromed plastic. The smoked ones are a little better and there are some that have a varied design and are more subtle I suppose (don't know if they'd be considered Altezza though), but still. Also if you're trying to go custom and be differet, every other import guy that mods his car has Altezza lights on there, sometimes that seems to be the only modification made to the whole car. Iroc2nv has a one off job I guess...and his car is definitely custom and intresting. I like some of the things he has done and like many, don't like other things he's done. However there is no doubt his car is a highly customized thirdgen and I'm kind of dissapointed in Iroc2nv for settling for some Altezzas, instead of going for something more unique..granted I guess no other third gen really has them, but every other car does.
I don't think Redraif has them, and yeah she is a she Shane, but a little too old for you =) Too bad she doesn't post here anymore really.

It's all about trends. In the 50's, everybody had to have the bonneville discs. In the 60's chrome reverse wheels and maybe moonies. (or Americans) 70's your car was laughed at if you didn't run Cragar SS with steamroller tires in the back. The same thing applies today..... only the parts are different. When everybody starts running 20's-22's, some guy is gonna slap on a set of 14's and say, 'look at me! I'm different!' When 4 out of 5 Honda Civics are running "altezza" taillights, some guy is gonna say "Hey! I wanna be different! I'm gonna run STOCK taillights! And the new trend begins. The only truth in car customizing is.... nothing stays the same. 20 years from now 90 percent of the rides on this board may be sporting neon (as in the gas, not the car) taillights, and some guy is gonna slap something different on his ride and we're all gonna say "OMG those LED tallights suck, that's so old school blah blah blah...."
Bottom line is, it's your ride, you do what gives you the most satisfaction. If you wanna be trendy, expect to follow the "rules". If you wanna be different - go for it. It's your car, and you're buying the parts...... don't let other folks spend your "money" for you!

Or you could just take the tail lights completely apart, and put red bulbs on them beceuse your blackout was WAY late and the reflectors fell off
