air compressor class action settlement

air compressor class action settlement
Dudes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!----go to aircompressorsettlement.com and make your claim!! If you bought one of these popular brand air compressors between August 1996 and Jan 30, 2004 then you may be entitled to some free tools (worth approx $50)-- The case revolves around Craftsman, Campbell Hausfeld, Husky(also CP), Ingersoll Rand and a WHOLE SLEW OF OTHER BRANDS advertising their compressors using the higher, PEAK HP, rather than the more realistic "continuous running hp".

Since this is semi-important, and at the request of some members, I will sticky this thread. It will, however, stay locked.

Well I got my settlement papers today.
I get a choice of some free stuff.

3/8 air rachet and blowgun
3/8in 25ft hose, tire inflator with gauge, teflon tape
mini rotary air tool, 3/8in 25ft hose, teflon tape
2 3/8in 25ft hoses [50ft] teflon tape
paint spray gun, 8 piece deep impact sockets mertic/standard, teflon tape

Not all settlements were the same.

Mine is from DeVilbiss

I wonder on the quality of stuff they are gonna send.
Will it be DeVilbiss or junk brands???
I can't see any DeVilbiss paint spray guy of any kind being under $30. I would think if they were gonna send me a mini touch up gun it should say so, no?

Suppose to be around $50 worth of stuff.
[Only paid $100 for compressor. BigLots]

I just wonder what type of DeVilbiss paint spray guy I would get.
I kind of like that one as I could use them sockets.
I have most everything else.

I hear the CH settlements get a webiste full of stuff to chose from but must pony up on shipping and tax. I get free shipping but only 5 choices.

Bigger problem is air compressor companies still sell products that are over rated. If you do the math, amp X something, you get how many HP the sucker is. And none of them put out what they say. So the settlement is "closed" but if they never change, it should be able to be re-opened.

I don't wish the stray off topic but this would be nice if we could get a class action going against stereo equipment companies. Everything they sell is labeled for peak possible out put.

Computer power supplies are similar.

Darn, I missed your post before I sent off my papers.
[I did how ever make copies of them, just incase.]

but I chose option B
Only cause I am to cheap to ever by a nice tire inflater like that and everyone uses my air hose. Like the local gas station. But now it will have a nice gauge. I could of used them sockets but that is something I would / will buy for myself and that paint sprayer can be had for $10 out of any catalog.

And what would anyone want to paint with that???
A house maybe as your not gonna use a $200 HVLP gun for house paintin.

i bought a craftsmen air compressor about a yr ago. the only complaints are the cheap tools they give you. personally i think this little settlement thing is stupid. after lookin at the tools they give you for free, it seams kinda pointless. id see signin papers worth it if they came out and gave you like a new air compressor to fix there mistakes about the max HP.

Well folks...... I got my package a few days ago. Stuff was of course cheap but what I picked out. Tire gauge inflator is nice though. So all n all it turned out ok. Though Id rather had $50 cash.
