I'm not sure how it's mounted, however it does look nice. But "Power Plate" is referring to what the switch operates, not the panel the switch is mounted on I believe

I used a thin piece of aluminum and shaped it with a Dremel, drilled all holes I needed (1 green LED, 1 red LED, and 2 stereo 1/8" jacks, & mounting holes), then painted it GM satin black. The flap still closed over it and it looked very nice. I know that may not help but I'm just saying I had to make one.

I took a piece of bare aluminum and cut it exaclty the same size as the ashtray lid. Then, I sanded all the edges down, just enough so it fit very tightly. Then, expoxied it form underneath. Before I expoxied it and everything...I drill all the holes for the LED's and for the switch. I used to have a different switch set-up...it was set down in the ashtray like TPIROC stated...but..I couldn't see the LED's very well and it was a little harder to get to...so..I don't away with the lid and everything and made it this was. I can get to it very easy and plus, it looks cool

I'll post some pics of mine when I get back to my computer. Basically, you just cut a piece of black ABS to fit the ashtray, and then cut holes for the switches. Then just use some ABS cement and glue it to the bottom of the shifter panel. That way you can keep the stock ash tray cover. I did it in both my car and my brother's. If you're needing switches, just try an auto parts store or radioshack.
