SS style hood

how many people have the ss style hood and what comany did you buy it from. what are the pros and cons of the fiberglass hood, i have heard they dont fit very well and you have to do a lot of sanding to get them looking good, I really want this hood but i dont want to spend 500 and still have to put 3 hours of labor into it

i've owned fiberglass hoods on a few of my 3rd gens and never had a fitment problem. i have no idea where people are buying hoods that don't fit. as for the sanding, i never had that problem either. just buy it, fit it, and send the car for paint.

there are specs to align the hood to the fenders and nose. its very easy to tell a car that has had its hood removed at one point or another. i don't think people realize this.

I''ve never had any problems with the fitment of my SS hood....just the usual issues...I had to put some washers beneath the latch assembly....simple stuff...just have to get your hands a little dirty. I did have 2 or 3 chips I had to fill on the hood...other then that...it was fine. At about 45 MPH, my hood does seem to flex....that's one thing I don't like about it...and that's the only thing

There is only one company that makes these hoods....it's American Sports Car Design....not sure but they imght go through different shipping companies or not. Some people get these hoods and the finish is horrible...the fiberglass isn't smooth...and then the hood needs to be completely re-woked. I guess there are a handful of us that actually get descent hoods.

i saw Year One had them for sale but the hood was made by ASCD and it cost a lot more than getting it from ASCD.
