Driveshaft took out my floor pan...trouble?
A while ago my rear end locked up....driveshaft got loose and did a little damage underneath the car. It cut about half way through my exhaust....grinded a bit off my torque arm....and today i noticed that it banged up the floor pan....and there are a couple 2-3 inch slashs going through the pan. The slashes arent too bad...but it did cut through...looks like some claws slashed through the car. Im planning on welding them up when I weld in the roll bar....will I have any problems though? Its at the very back between the rear seats...below the connector that goes back to the fuel pump. Luckily it didnt break any fuel lines or cut any wires (that I know of...engine still runs).

if i were you, and if you are good at welding, id cut out the entire floor penel that got damaged and put in a new one. instead of just filling it in and patching it up

Ill try to get my brothers camera to take some pictures...I just dont think its bad enough to warrant taking out a peice of my floor pan.

patching it will work no prob. id get under there and put something over the weld to keep it from rusting out. i know under my car there is like a black tar like substance that came factory that runs up above the shaft on the floor pan.

a friend of mine did that, delayed getting the repair done, and the rips spread like crazy and pretty much tore the car in half in weeks. he's now in the process of swapping all his **** into another car.

well that makes me feel good thanks. When you say he delayed to repair...do you mean he did nothing at all....or he just welded the cuts? I have SFCs on my car so hopefully its not putting too much stress on it.
