alternitive to new carpet.

alright, we all know these pre molded carpets can be pretty expensive, but i was wondering why i couldnt just take a regular standard black carpet, cut it to size, and lay it down.

will it not take nicely to the bends, dips and curves ? has anybody done this ?

I think by the time you actually got it to fit right you would have wished you bought a molded carpet. I dont think molded carpets very expensive anyways.

I don't know the boneyard situation in your area. But I went searching through the ones in my area and found two real nice carpets that matched my interior. I removed them myself, cleaned them, shampooed them, applied new jute backing, and installed one in my car and one in my brother-in-law's car. Total cost to me was $50.00 and several hours of my time.
