Weird T-Tops
Hey can anyone help? My t-top weather stripping looks like crap, but it doesnt leak (or as far as i can see) But the strangest thing i found about leaking for me car was that after it rains, when i open my trunk and the main comparment that opens, their is about 2 inches of standing water. Any ideas?

Im assuming the lugage well? its the spot where you open your hatch, and then you open a small spot thats called "a trunk" (though its so narrow)

The small space would be considered the luggage well, although there's not much room. No trunk on our cars, except for convertables.
Leaks are tricky. I'd imagine your hatch glass weatherstripping is what's leaking. How does it look? It's quite a bit easier to replace than the T-Top stripping. I didn't think that the luggage well was watertight. Not saying it couln't leak, but I'd think that water wouldn't build up.

After standing water destroyed my speaker box, I (neatly) ran a bead of black 3m w'strip adhesive on the outside of the glass to decklid gap and the probelm was solved. The ultimate solution (which wasn't a concern with my car) would be to re-seal/align the decklid.

My deck lid has been doing this since i bought my car too.
At first as a stop gag measure I kept some towels in there to absorb the water during the rainy nights as the leak wasn't big. But I'm determined to fix it this year. No more leaky hatch for me!
I felt like a *** when i fixed the leak in my T-tops!
It was exciting to drive in the rain and have not a single drip.

drill a hole in thw bottom of the well, let the water come out re drill it again. Then paint the **** out of it so it dont rust. Then that will solve it for a little while, water wont build up. Then just finally get you a nice set of waetherstripping, maybe even some new carpet, HELLO MILDEW!!!!!!!!

what gets me is even if the seal went.. I don't see how water cen go over the metal lip all around it.. plus the glass over laps it too. My first thought would be if the adheasive that bonds the glass to the deck lid has a hole or two through it. Then the water flowing down the glass would go between the glass and the deck lid. and into the car.. and drips directly down into the cargo well. Another thing I found .. when taking off the t-top seals on my car.. is looking at where the water would have to go to get to the back seats, I think the sealant around the hatch bolts could be letting water in.. But Thats a diff topic..

Ya the water running off the car would have to direcetly go into the trunk well because theres always like 2-4 standing inches everytime it rains hard. lol i just bought $1000 worth of subs and amps for the camaro and now i have to hold off.

I used to have the same problem with mine right after I bought it. Then one day... it just stopped
I haven't had a problem with it since... I dunno what the problem was. I'm assuming maybe the hatch wasn't closing correctly or something along those lines.
There's a guy who sells a complete set of seals (for both your doors, t-tops & hatch area) for $300. If ya want the site, lemme know and I'll email if to ya!!

Hatch Leak
I recall gm put out a bulliten on just that leak.. it eminated from the LHR and RHR SIDES of the hatch glass seal.. just around the strut base. Their fix at the time was to run a thin strip of self adheasive tape over the existing seal - thereby built up the concaved surface.
