Cracked rubber wing can it be fixed?????

Cracked rubber wing can it be fixed?????

My rubber wing is cracked and i want to fix it so i can have my car painted. Now i dont have the money to get a fiberglass one so thats out of the question but i know theres a right way that i can fix my spoiler so it looks decent im not lookin for great but just so its one shape. so how do i go about fixing it??

The short form is NO. There is NO repair for a cracked up stock aerowing spoiler. Take it off the car, and find the nearest dumpster.

The cracking is due to the metal frame of the spoiler rusting up so bad it distorts the shape of the rubber molded around it, eventually causing it to split. Once it has split, deterioration increases in speed as water will get in there no matter how much goo you shove in it. It originally starts due to the attaching pegs on the sides of the rear glass. There are three of them which are three holes per side that let water in with no where to go. Instant rust for the spoiler frame. The way the car is shaped as you drive in the rain the water is forced into the spoiler, only making a bad design worse.

yup, i filled mine with bondo and then painted it. Still looks good, and if you texture it right then it will stock. I had a guide somewhere on it. lemme find it......

Hmm, like Steve said, nice effort, better than leaving it cracked, but it's a 20 footer!
