All A/C Deleters...Gotta Question for ya
Okay, finally got around tp putting in the a/c delete box..went to put the new motor in the box and it doesn`t line up right. Can`t seem to find the original 2 1/2 inch dia motor..anyone know where I can get one. I tried to use my a/c blower , made it fit then the cage stuck out to far...hits the firewall, Anyone?

Nope...the cage is taller by a lot. The a/c blower motor is also longer and way heavier than the original non/ a/c blower motor.
Bought one at auto zone and it wasn`t like either of the two originals, vent tube hole is in the wrong place and there`s some kinda make shift apparatus to secure the cage, hit`s the firewall big time. The cage has to be recessed inside the box by about an inch or so. I was hoping someone knew of a place to get the correct parts.
STB is homemade

A blower motor and cage can be found in most any late 70's though late 80's GM RWD car (maybe trucks as well). They are one of those 'universal' parts GM uses.

Here's what I did:
AC motor, NON AC cage/fan.
HOWEVER, greezemonkey is correct, it doesn't quite fit. I measured, and mine was just a tad short of 1/4" inch too deep. I went to Home Depot and bought some 1/8" inch washers and obviously used 2 washers per screw. Then, I used some black silicone adhesive/sealant. I just gobbed it in there, and then my ran my finger along the seam, and it cleaned up the bead just like if you were icing a cake!
I was honestly concerned that it would look like a homemade jury rig, but most people wouldn't even know, unless they were looking for it.
Less than $5 bucks, I still have all 4 fan speeds, and you can buy the stuff ANYWHERE!!!

Non AC Blower Cage, Napa $21.49
Non AC Blower motor, Napa $18.49
The part #'s can be found on NAPA's web site
However like you said the rubber hose from the motor to the heater box will not line up unless you drill different holes in the box, but the motor comes with 2 block off covers for the holes. If you do drill different holes the wires for the motor will have to be re routed.

I got the cage (fan) for the non-ac unit at the junkyard, and also got a breather hose off of a later model Olds, and it fit with a little convincing.
