Hey Kandied, I need some info....
Hey Man, I've tryed sending you a PM but your mailbox is full. I'm going to be getting a 4 point "Autopower" roll bar for my car....and I'm not sure what kind of finish to apply. I saw a post that you made...and there were a few pictures of your roll bar. What kind of finish do you have? It almost looks like a steel or gunmetal. I like the color..and thought about doing the same to mine. I don't think I want just black...or that foam pad everyone uses..... Please let me know. Thanks Man

thanks for the heads up man. I haven't ordered my roll bar yet beacuse I'm not exactly sure how the back bars mount. It looks like they don't even go in the hatch....here is what bar I'm talking about: http://www.livermoreperformance.com/...%20Safety.html
It's the "street bar"..I know it's not NHRA approved or anything..I just think it would make a good addition...adding a little style....plus...my back seats are accessible...

To tell you the truth . . . I don't have alot of experience with putting in roll cages but it looks like that one mounts through the little arm rest for the rear passengers. I don't know if you know what im talking about but under the rear sail panels it has that little indentation for an arm reast for rear passengers.

well..to tell you thr truth..I just found out that it mounts through the rear fender well....here is what the guy said "The rear bars for the roll bar mount to the fender well of the rear tires" so...I guess I'll have to chop some of the plastic...but I guess I'm just confused how I'm going to mount it under the plastic..seems like there wouldn't be much room under to drill or whatever....he said it's just an afternoon project....here is the exact roll bar...looks like a clean installation: (scroll down about half way)

I really like the looks of it....not tubing going everywhere...and the back seats are still accessible...
again..I know it's not NHRA approved...this is basically for looks...and that's what I'm looking for...because I don't race it...

the one thing i've never liked about prefab bars is how noticeable they are. you can see them from the sides and they aren't tight near the roof line so you can see them that way too.
not to say what you want is that way, just a reason why i had mine made in the car.....however it's rather expensive to do that which isn't always the best option.

I see what your saying kandied....if I knew anyone that would make me one...I'd definently go that way...another thing is that I don't want to take up my carpert or anything...and going this way...I don't have to. This is still going to be pretty expensive though....because I'm having it shipped to me from California...freight will be about $100 bucks...plus the price of the bar...

Try to keep one-on-one conversations to the PM. I know you couldn't reach him initially, but after you made contact via this thread you should have used the PM feature. Thanks.
