Can you use the 91-92 drivers side hush panel on 82-90?

Can you use the 91-92 drivers side hush panel on 82-90?
topic says it all.
I like the design of the new hush panel (the part the goes under the dash and steering column) vs the stock one on the earlier cars.
I've got an extra one at a friends house and wanted to know if they interchange before I try it..

I believe the method of attaching them under the dash is a little different on the 91 - 92 models. The 82 - 90 had several bolts holding them to the underside of the dash.

just for peoples info the 90's had the same one i think the dash redesign was done with the addition of the airbag steering wheel.
