Headligh Pocket Color
I'm repainting my camaro and want to paint the headight pockets the stock semi gloss black. I went to the paint supplier today and asked for that and they looked at me like I had three heads. They said they would need paint code for that and that they only have paint that will shine. I asked them how the body shops would do it if they don't make paint for it and they suggested that I use a spray can on it or don't clear that area. Neither of which i want to do.
Does anyone know where i can get the paint code for the black for the headlight pockets?

Well thats what i thought also. NO RATTLE CAN, then i got so sick of looking for the color. I went to auto-zone and got a paint thats called Trim paint. Black of course. And i was REALLY REALLY suprised to see how great it came out. It truly looks factory!! Thats my opinion. Dont dis the rattle. Sometimes it might supprise ya!!

No i didnt clear over the paint. Theyre supposed to be semi gloss for light reflection reduction. It has lasted 2 years now. It is called trim paint and its made by plasti kote i think.

i did my old car's pockets with a rattle can too...although i went with flat black...i had the car for about 8 months after that and it looked as good on the day i sold it as the day i painted it
the only imperfections you see in this picture were because i didnt sand and primer....i just sprayed it...the slight imperfections are just because the pocket wasn't completely smooth:
edit: i used DupliColor plastic bumper paint...pretty sure they carry semi-gloss also

I think I'm sold on the spray can. I guess it's my only alternative. Since i'm painting it, if it comes out ****ty, it'll just be another day of work to redo the nose. I'll paint base on the whole nose then when that dries, mask and spray the headlight buckets, then clear coat everything. I should have pics of how it came out on Sunday afternoon.
