dent removers...?

has anyone ever used a Ding King to remove small dents/dings? does it do a satifactional job? do tools like this that pull the dent out just pull it and if you were to push on the area where the dent used to be would it just sink in and come back? i remember one time on a fender there was a similar size depth dent that i would push on one side to pop it out but if i pushed on the side where it used to be, it would just pop right back to a dent.

Tried it just for kicks since we sell it at work. I had everything from shallow dents to big ones in on my car. It didn't work well enough on any of them to be worth the money. On the big(wide) dents that weren't deep it pulled them out a little but not enough for it to matter. For the smaller deeper ones it made them shallower but again, not anywhere near perfect. It didn't get any of the dents to a state that someone wouldn't notice. So you would still need to go to the body shop anyway. Quick answer: It sucks.

I would call a good paintless dent repair place or the dealership. These guys can do an awesome job as long as they can get access to the back of the dent. It also costs less than traditional body work because they don't repaint.

I recommend a dent guy also...

For the most part, if the damage is bad enough, a dent guy will just tell you to go see the bodyshop. No charge. We don't like spending hours on a dent. There is a cutover when the bodyshop price is the better deal.

The Ding King is a joke. I actually go to the local AutoZone, find the Ding King on the shelf and slide my business card inside the box. After the buyer realizes it doesn't work, they'll call me! I've actually heard that the Ding King puts dents in the car since it uses 2 leverage points for pressure. Those 2 points become shallow dents while just lifting the original dent a little bit.

Where are you located? I might be able to help you out or set you up with someone that can.
