some1 please turn this into a sticky....
alright me and a friend are goin 50/50 in on all the decent equipment needed to do a full auto paint job.
now for the info part: can some one with experience please post an exact "how to" or "step by step" list in how to go about painting a car considering it is still factory color? i know this is a lot of work and would be a very long post but in the end its worth it and will help PLENTY of ppl that want to paint his or her own car.
i need info from sanding, to prep work, sealing primirs, basecoat clearcoat, then final buffing etc... basically the step that professionals go through when getting ready to paint a car.
this is all considering all rust if any has already been repaired, like my car for example has no rust what so ever and my friends has rust that we have repaired but only primer sealed it.
please this will be GREATLY appreciated for anyone that will go through the trouble of "teaching" how to paint a car.
thanks very much

alright well lets try to make this step a little easier as no one seems to be bothering. lets start off with the sanding process.
considering car is still factory color:
1. sand how much with what grit.?
a. hand block
b. DA sander
c. use both
2. cleaning for primer
a. how
b. use what? (best products)
3. priming using high build primer
a. how many coats
b. sand w/ what grit
c. repeat?
4. when is it ready for base coat?
5. prep the base coat before clear?
a. what to do
b. use what
6. anything else i may have missed, this is basically a steb by step procedue and list of what to use in whatever order.
already know how to buff/polish
planning to change colors in my 91Z within the next 2 months max so someone please "teach" me how to go about painting my car.

i took 220 da and sanded my whole car, primered then wet sanded w/ 220 then re primered then wet sanded w/ 400 then painted then wet sanded w/ 1000 or 1500 and buffed using rbbin compund and then machine glaze.
i sanded the whoel car on each sanding to get it dull and smooth everywere.
for clear and base just after the final wet sadning of 40 on the base then presol w/ grease wa remover tack ag doing this over the whoel car then spray the base one let set for 10 to 20 mins depending on the temp reducer u buy, then respray the base repaet this until u get 3 or 4 coats or more whichever youd like.
then just spray on yur clear coat in same way letting tack up 10-20 mins between coats and definately do as many coats of clear as u can or ant so u can sand and polish to very slick nice finish and cover up any inperfections or take them out when buffing and so that u have enough that u can repeat the buffing later. if need be
