Repairing stress crack
Alright, my car had a stress crack on the roof behind the driver's door from the last owner, they didn't put on SFCs.
I was waiting it out till it was time for a repaint, but now I'm starting to see a little cancer develop underneath the paint. I was thinking of sanding it down and repainting it, but figured it would just show again after a while.
What would be a semi-permanent repair that wouldn't show itself again within a few weeks? I just need something that will last long enough until I can have the whole thing repainted (probably late this year or early next, the factory paint still is pretty decent).

I had the same problem on mine. I removed the t-top, t-top weatherstrip, interior panels and rear seat on that side. Sanded the area of the stress crack until I had it all exposed. I then stop drilled the ends of each crack to prevent it from spreading. I then took it to a friend and had him weld the crack with a TIG welder. I then used a grinder to get the excess weld off and smooth the area out. Next used the grinder and some fine grit sandpaper and scotchbrite pads to finish the smoothing and polishing. Had to use a little bondo to smooth out the contour a little. Primered and wet-sanded it twice and then painted and wet-sanded twice. Finished up with three coats of clear. Sorry, no pic's.
