Do you have any better pics? Looks great from what I can see. I want to do this as well, how did you prep? Did you rough up the plastic at all?

Damn dude my bad. I can't believe I didn't see the photoshop right there! Anyway, I say give it a go. My interior is black but is kind of fading But just like black paint, it looks the best when clean but shows dirt like no other! Go for it! I think it looks good.

I have used the fusion paint before and it turns out pretty good. Just remember to wash each peice before hand with some kind of ammonia based cleaner. If you don't clean the whole peice the paint will fish eye.

I tested some krylon fusion paint on a spare interior panel for my car. I didn't like how it turned out. It's too glossy, and not the right shade of black.

Don't use acetone, atleast strong acetone it will melt the plastic, at least it did the old peice I used to test it on. Don't use amonia either amonia will leave small residue and it will release gas and can cause it to bubble. If you use amonia let it set for severial days before painting it.

A few things...

I always liked black interiors. Though the mix of grey and black looks good too. Didn't you say in your other interior post that your panels were starting to fade and deteriorate? If thats the case, I would hold out to get some already black panels if I was you. One more thing, get you rear seats recovered. It'll make a wourld of difference if you ask me.

if the plastic is chalky and rakes off when you touch it you will have to sand it before you paint and thus lose the texture unless you know how to texture sand, I have yet to figure out how to do that. I say get new plastic I think black is still available from gm at least most check thirdgen resource they have new and used. Even if you get use and paint it it will be best to start with black where scratches don't show as bad.

Or the guy that sells used sets, the one that has all the locking covers im sure someone has the link. I see his web site posted every now and again ... someone help me out with the link.

Ive been thinking about covering all the plastic in leather or fake leather, I am reading up on how to get leather to streach and srink to fit the sharp edges. I figure the leather and some carpet inlays will look good.

Not really, looks like you cut a hole in an otherwise decent looking panel and stuck a cig-lighter receptacle in it. May I ask what the purpose for that is/was?

Why didnt ya just hard-wire the neons to the 12 volts that you had to run back there for the cig. lighter, and put a switch up front?
