82-84 Trans Am replacement exterior parts suppliers
specifically for an 82-84 trans am where and for how much can you find these replacement parts for currently:
1. right hand side just in front of rear tire GFX piece, it is short in length and black in color if that matters ?
2. pair of rear and pair of front front side marker light reflector assemblies, are the bezels separate and exterior color keyed ?
3. full set of the black body side moldings and the proper adhesive
4. all the exterior door weatherstripping pieces for door glass and such
5. below windshield wiper cowl area black plastic screen and parts
5. front parking lamp assemblies pair
6. replacement stock steel type front fenders- remember 82-84 trans am vents style specific
thats all that need replacement on outside of the 82 t/a project other than windshield and wiper arm assemblies, everything else is in good shape other than driver rear QP in which im going to have hired done right locally by a person whom i know and have picked out to do the job already, and am going to keep all receipts for all parts and labor.
id like to find good listing of sources for exterior 82-84 trans am parts suppliers that ppl have had great luck with recently.
thanks

82-84 fender extractors are EXACTLY the same as 85-90. How do I know? Because the drivers side fender on my 86 is factory and the passenger side fender is off an 84 T/A with the original 86 vent in it.
My original fender was destroyed in an accident and all parts to fix it were used from an 84 T/A parts car I got including the factory power buldge hood. Everything bolted up the same with the exception of transferring the ground effect mounting brackets over to the 84 fender...

good deal awesome thanks i appreciate
i was wondering about this, i am glad to know they didnt change in 85, now i know that if i find an 85-up t/a then i can use the fenders for my 82, when was last year for t/a fender vent style fenders anyways ?
trying to find out about and find parts i am going to need for exterior complet erestification before i start on driver side QP repair and fender replacement, am going to wait until i have everything needed for complete exterior restoration and do all that and then move onto interior restoration after researching and finding everything needed to replace anything missing or broken with stock factory style parts except i plan on swapping steering wheel with a later one and also the shifter too since the wheel is worn out really bad and the original factory thm200c shifter is the red arrow round button 82 only style one and i dont like it at all. i will swap to a T style common one, will either trade someone it for a T style oen or go get an aluminum T handle hurst or similar setup maybe, dunno yet
thanks

There seems to be some conflict here about the fender vents, so I thought I would throw in my $.02.
I had an 87 Trans Am, now have an 84. In my experience, the vent from my 87 fits perfectly in the fender on the 84. Again, just my two cents. Good luck.

ok i have since making this thread found out what the deal is
although i am still unsure what the last year for vented fenders was i though it was 86 but someone says 90
i have found out by latest personal experience that 82 83 84 vents are not same as 85-up ones
the difference is in the opening in the vents
they changed the size of the vent intake opening size in 85
but the hole in fender and outside size of the vents are same however
put an 82 84 one next to an 85 up one and youll see it
ive done it
now i know
thanks

The reason for the vent size openings, is that in 1985, the Trans Ams came standard with the aero package. This package had the side skirt come up halfway up the vent opening.
So this vent was changed to save money, instead of restamping all the new fenders.

Anyway, everything you are looking for is available from classic industries. Except the fenders, they have 85 and up, and the wiper cowl and parts. If you need other stuff check out their site www.classicindustries.com. They have an online catalog...PDF file. It's a big file and is kind of tedious to look through so spend the 5 bucks and get a real catalog. They have a lot of 3rd gen parts. Good luck on your resto...I'm attempting one on my '82 myself! I'm trying to get a complete CFI unit right now...know anyone that want's to get rid of one?
I just checked out their site...it seems they now have an online searchable catalog Go check it out
