Hi guys, I am wanting to buy some new gta door panels for my gta. It is an 89 with tan interior. Mine are sagging and can't be fixed. Who sells the correct door panels new? Any help would be great. Thanks, Brannon

Well I wouldn't say it is rude , but that seems to be the problem that I have found with third gen. It seems that if your new to the page such as I am, and ask a question, that's about the normal response. But I tried search and found more people with the same problem. I'll try to ask more intelligent questions in the future. Brannon

 

I'm not sure that anyone sells new GTA door panels. If they do, I've never seen them. Your best bet would probably be ebay or a junkyard. You could also try the GTA Page, they have a lot of info over there strictly GTA. I know that's not exactly the answer you wanted, but I'm pretty sure that's how it is.

By the way, the whole search thing, don't let it get to you. Yes you should use it as much as possible, but I'm with you, there is way too much stuff on there. There has got to be a way to trim the "archive" down a bit. I was looking for serpentine belt info, after about 2 hours of reading, I just re-asked the question. The threads were almost helpful, but not quite. Welcome to the board anyway

Thanks, I called around to some of the shops like Hawks, and Third Gen Resource ,they told me that of all the door panels the gta is the only one I can't get. Your right the search thing can be a little overwhelming. keep in touch . Brannon

well maybe i can get you a pic, but where the cloth is it sags or looks loose. The funny thing is its not all the time. when it's damp and cool it's the worse. I hope that is a decent description , most of the panel is what appears to be vinyl, but by the handle is a cloth section. I will try to get a picture on. Thanks, Brannon

 

Brannon, I had similar problem with my GTA panels in where the cloth had pulled away from the panel, I solved it this way as the rest of the panel was good. I carefully peeled the cloth away from the panel,( on the edge I had to cut from the vinyl ) and cleaned the board of glue with steel wool, then used 3M upholstery adhesive in the spray can following the directions. Then I pulled the cloth tight pressed down firmly, smoothed out the wrinkle and behold --- problem solved! Hope this works for you, Dave
