Roll-Out Cargo Cover

I just recently bought one offa ebay (since they're not longer manufactored) and recieved it today.

I cannot roll it out for the life of me... is there a lock or something on it? Or some sorta trick to get it to roll out?

I have already emailed the guy that I bought it from, but he had told be before shipping the part that he would be on a business trip until Friday morning, so I was hoping maybe I could get some kinda answer here.

It came out of a '90 Trans Am, but as all other f-body parts, I'm sure they're exactly the same.

Thanks!!

Are you trying to roll it out with it mounted in the car? or you trying to roll it out by holding it.

Holding it... I wanted to check it was in good condition before I went to the bother of drilling holes & installing it.

It has to be mounted. Its spring loaded so it retracts when you put the hatch back down. I also went out and double checked real quickly on mine, took it out and tried to unroll it just to make sure, and the is no way to do it. So I would have to assume not. I also hope you got the little plastic mounting plates that mount on the interior panels, and if you take the interior panels off you will find that they should already have the circle marked where the holes should be cut for the cargo cover mounts. Mine did it was molded into the plastic.

I got mine so my subs/amp wouldn't be as noticable (since I can't tint my windows in PA w/o risking a fine).

Why exactly will it roll out when it's mounted, but not when someone's holding it?? My boyfriend even put the mounting clips on the end and had my try and tug on it to see if that helped.

I just hate to go thru all the bother of installing before I see it

***EDIT: nvm, I just figured it out. I sat it up on end and leaned on it and that unlocked it and lemme roll it out. It's in good condition, w00t!!
