can i fit 275/40/17 or 17x8 rim?
Can i put a 275/40/17 on a 17x8 in rim? I found out that SLP has new ZR1 wheels made with our backspacing for a set of 4 for $699.00. I want a wider tire that i currently have for extra traction. The best i can do is the same width. Would i be able to put these babies on there?
One set is silver
the other is "hyper black"
No pic yet for these
thanks,
shane

It should fit, but most likely not look or perform right. The sidwwall will be too rounded.
The widest recommended width for an 8" wheel is 255. If you want to run a 275 width tire, you really need a 9-10" wheel.

alright then that means i'm gonna get the 4th Gen Firehawk Rims
The Silver ones are still $699 which means to $174.75 per rim.
The Chrome rims are $1099 which means 274.75 per rim.
I think i'm gonna go with the silver ones though, what do you think, my car is in the sig.

i just bought gm ZR1/SS style wheels, and they came w/ 275/40/17 tires. im wanting to lower my 85' Z-28 about 1 to 1.5 inches, will i have any problem rubbing, or clearing the tires? i know theyll fit under there just fine right now, but how about after i lower it?
