Embroidery on headrests [UPDATE: Installed...pics below.)
I bought new custom seat covers for my car from Roy at FBody Motorstports. I have everything installed except the headrests. I am considering getting them embroidered with something on them.
I was thinking about having "Z28" put on them, but I already have "Z28" embroidered in my floormats. If I have them on the headrests, then "Z28" will be written 5 times just in the front seat area alone (2x headrests + 2x floormats+ 1x dash). My friend tells me he thinks it would look good, but I am afraid there will be too much "Z28."
Another option would be to put a Chevy Bowtie, the word "Camaro," or "Chevrolet" on the headrests.
If anyone has any pics of embroidered headrests in a Camaro, I would love to see them!
Any and all opinions, suggestions, and/or ideas are welcome.

Well, nevermind. I didn't need anyone's input anyway. I made up my mind today and had bowties embroidered. I called around town and found someone local that did them for me...today!
I am just about complete with my new interior project with the exception of the new custom matching door panels; which will be installed by the end of the week. Below are some before and after pics from the project.

However, as you can see from the first pic, I really need to find some better looking seat belts. If I can find some good seat belts, my interior will be almost perfect.

If I were you I would put black seat belts in, you will probably never find a good set of belts that are red. I would also get black belt hoops for the seats. This way you can get 4th gen or 3ed gen if you can find a good set. And IMO black would look alot better with your new seats.
I wonder if you can dye seat belts or if it would weaken them some how humm. I don't mean with the spray dye but like ritz dye, just un-wind them and dip them in, does anyone know??

Carmotorsports (www.carmotorsports.com) offer custom embrodarie and I had the 1989 20th Anniversary nose emblem logo done on my headrests: http://la.rsson.com/headrests/ it looks great and the quality is outstanding.
Below is the announcement from the company:
----------------
Guys,
Over the past several years numerous list members have talked of the desire to have TTA Embroidered Headrests. Recently, CAR Motorsports embroidered a pair of HeadrestCovers for Jan Larsson with the identical log to that offered a couple of years ago on the custom TTA floor mats. The result is what you see on the attached pictures. The cost is $79.95 for the pair if you use your own headrests and $149.95 if we supply new matching headrests. Shipping will be $6.95. The Embroidery work is "First Class" all the way and of course using the German Madera Thread makes the Dream a Good One.
If using your own headrest covers, you must send those too us with a center point marked and the top and bottom marked. The best way to do this is to use masking tape and make your markings from there. Do this before you remove the headrest cover from the headrest.
When you send your headrest covers to us, please include payment ($79.95 + $6.95 = $86.90) in the form of either VISA or MasterCard with expiration date and the three digit VCode on the back side of the card, money order, personal check, or you may use PayPal at the account of PayPal@CARMotorsports.com
The CAR Motorsports address is:
CAR Motorsports
PMB 346
2774 N. Cobb Pkwy Suite 109
Kennesaw, GA 30152
Phone: 678-431-1408
Fax: 678-431-1408
Should you desire to purchase Embroidered TTA Headrest Covers from us directly, you should call us at our order line number: 678-431-1408 and we will take your order. The cost will be: ($149.95 + $6.95) = $156.90. Payment methods are the same as discussed above. Please allow three(3) weeks for delivery.
Thanks, Rich...biggdoggtta

The biggest thing I need is the front seat lap buckle (the part that bolts to the floor). The belt and plastic are all worn and faded. My rear belts are almost like new. However, like it was said earlier, I think a black belt replacement would look much better and probably be easier to find as well.

I fully intend on going to the Gathering this year. After last year's tragety and speaking with Andy afterward, I was really afraid there was not going to be a Gathering this year. Be sure to look me up. I shouldn't be too hard to find. We, the BFBA, like to park around the Atlanta folks. I look forward to seeing you in May!

If you are interested in dying your belts, try RIT dye. It's a fabric dye and they sell it at fabric stores and Wal-Mart. The powder stuff works best. It will dye anything, including you. You just mix it with hot water. It might help to bleach your belts first. It will even dye a lot of plastics. I use it to dye the plastic canopies on my radio controlled airplanes to give them a tinted look. I would definately get a junkyard belt and test it first. The Rit dye is cheap. Like $1.25 a box. One or two boxes would easily do all your belts. Matt

BTW, your interior looks incredible. I was thinking about ordering some leather like vinyl seat covers for my 88 GTA which has a grey cloth interior. How "leather like" is the vinyl? Can you choose your colors? I'd like grey in the middle and black on the sides of the seats kind of like your red and black. Thanks for any info! Matt

I am really picky about my car and I too pondered if I would be satisfied with vinyl. I have to say that I am quite pleased with the results!
Also, I have seen a sample of tan GTA seats at a show at one of Roy Fender's (ThirdGen Resource) booths. I didn't even know it was vinyl until I picked it up and saw the inner lining.
If you call Roy, he will let you pick out any color you want. However, BE VERY SPECIFIC about what panels are to be what colors. I had to have mine sent back twice before I got them right on the third try. However, this was not the fault of Roy or ThirdGen Resource. The manufacturer was the one who made the mistakes. Although it took a while, Roy made sure I was happy in the end.
