Armrests are Creepy

The vinyl material on both of my armrests creeps up on the edge alongside the door. The material seems to have been cut behind them. The door pulls are tight. The top surfaces are actually a little more "cushy" because the material is loose. I can tuck the edge back in, but they just creep out again. Do they need to be replaced or is there a fix? The rest of the material is good, and they look fine when they are tucked in. If I need new ones, are they available separately for a reasonable cost?

I took some 3m plastic emblem glue and repaired mine. You have to pull them off. Then run the glue along the backside edge under the lip. Take some black tape and wrap it around them along the whole length. Pulling the lip over the plastic as you go. leave the tape on over night to dry well. You need to work quickly though the glue sets up pretty fast. This worked well for me.

Good luck!

Mine was the same way, but over years of sitting like that, they almost shrunk into nothing-ness and no glue no matter what would hold them properly, so instead I went to the junker and picked up 2 new ones mint for $10
Junkers are great, try to look for some first, before you go for some mess of glue

Thanks for the prompt replies! Yards can be a crapshoot when trying to match colors (mine are red) but I will keep my eyes open and not let them overcharge me if I find some. Meanwhile, can't hurt to try the glue, I guess. Nice detailed instructions there. Anybody know why these things split like that in the first place?? I haven't had mine off, so maybe it's obvious when you look. Still seems kinda weird, though. Since four people knew exactly what I was talking about right away, I'm glad I made this post. A search for armrests didn't turn up any others. Thanks again!

I bought a set of used ones from an older car to replace mine with. The 87 and older style armrests don't have the "bloating" problem that the newer style ones do. Besides, I think they look better with the definitive line and the sharper edges to them.
