How do i turn off the wipers ????
I have an 1984 Camaro Berlinetta, 305, with all the options. Power everything, and digital display, with some really messed up stuff. The blinker switch is on the dash, and the wiper options are too. There are 4 buttons.
1.One that seems to be spray (motors broken though)
2.One that makes it go non-stop, or non-stop fast
3.One that delays the wipers, like 3-4 diffrent speeds
4.Says Mist Off, but does not turn off the wipers
Number 4 i have tried to hold the button, tap the button, and i have also tried diffrent speeds of the wipers, with tons of diffrent combo's. There is no manual and i am at a loss. Please, i know there are berlinetta owners out there who have figured it out. (I wish GM made a "OFF" button.)
:hail: Thanks

Well, odd thing is, that they will turn off after the car sits for a period of time, but thats not very good for me, as when i drive around, and the rain stops, all i hear is SQUEAK, SQUEAK, SQUEAK, SQUEAK, SQUEAK, SQUEAK, SQUEAK, SQUEAK, and i wanna kill myslef, yes, i have the space shuttle dash. Its how difficult they made this.

I had a no-frills 84SC with a 'similar' problem. When turned off, there was some problem with the motor and the wipers wouldn't 'park'.
My temp solution to turn them off, until I could replace the motor assy., was to pull the wiper fuse. A quick in/out would turn them off (kind of like my ex... ) . I put a piece of tape on it for a 'strap' so I could find the fuse under the dash w/o looking. Not very practical at all, but better than the wipers running 24/7.
Might be a reasonable temp. solution untill someone has an answer for you. I've never been fortunate enough to see an intact berl. dash yet so, I don't know how the switch works.

OK I have had a similar prob but not with a berl. What my problem was that when I had taken the motor apart and put it back together there is a blue colored thing (sorry do not the name) inside the motor and when I went to put it back together I put it back in wrong and it snapped as soon as i turned them on and then they would not turn off until I did deadbirds solution or until I turned the key off and turned i back on. So I'll bet that somehow that blue thing has gotten broke over the years.
