auto hatch pull down wont come up, wont close hatch, help!
just about to leave for the mall, and i change a cd in the cd changer, and then i go to close the hatch and it doesnt close. i try to twist the key again and maybe the motor will pop back up, and it doesnt come up. i manually closed the lock with a screwdriver, then used to key to unlock it, and it unlocks fine, it just doesnt come up and wont grab the bar to close it now. anything specific i should check?

this happened on mine a couple of times what i did was put my hand on the hatch right over where the hook is and pushed down really hard hopefully if ya pushed hard enough it will latch but sometimes it wont so you either do it again or if your lucky the thing thinks you opened the trunk and comes up

I'm having the same prob with mine.
This is what I found works..... DON'T drop or slam the hatch let it go down to where it should be "closed" then put both hands on the hatch and give it a shove down. The motor should catch and pull it down. Took me a while to figure it out. This should work until you get it repaired properly.

tried that too, and it wouldnt go at all. i ended up taking off the interior panels, and had my dad push it down with me inside, and i saw it was a good 1/2 to 3/8 inches away from where it needed to be, and that was fully pushed down, a lot of weight on it, it was going no where.
ended up just pushing the motor with a screw driver at a certain spot that triggered the motor to go up, didnt expect that at all. only then was i able to close it. with everything apart, we decided to adjust the hatch too, since the closing bar thing was starting to rip the weather stripping because it would rub, and it looked really out of line.
adjusting the thing makes a giant difference though, looks much cleaner now from outside of the car.
