Finally got a new hood today, few questions

Hey, after a couple years of looking at a hail damaged hood I finally got a new hood today :lala: :lala: If anybody remembers the freak hail storm we had in northern VA about 2-3 years ago, that's how long my hood has been damaged! Anyways, I paid $425 for a brand new GM factory hood, black, primered and ready to paint. Is this a good deal?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33646

My second question is, how much do you think it'll cost to have painted at Maaco?

I'm guessing you don't like any of the aftermarket glass hoods. If I was in your situation I would've gotten a used mint hood off a TA, probably would've been much cheaper. Anyway, I've been quoted about $200-$300 to paint a hood from my local body guys when I was thinking of getting a glass hood a few years ago.

Yep.. I hate the look of most fiberglass hoods.. They don't match the rest of the car. Most of them look retarded..

$425? Did that include shipping? What's wrong with the steel reproduction TA hoods from Classic Industries that are like $200??

Hmm I forgot about those reproduction hoods. I didn't know they were that cheap. Oh well, at it would of cost as much as this one with shipping, plus this one has new vents and is already primed, and it's not a reproduction

$400 is a steal for a real new GM hood. Theyre $700 plus from GM. If its real GM then its on nice score.
