Forth Gen Emblems

Does anybody know if a forth gen nose emblem will fit a 1987 Camaro without any mods to the bumper. I'm talking about the tri-bar one.

Second gen emblems have a couple studs on the back. I don't beleave that it will mach up to the stock holes. becides I like the the smooth look that the sticker emblem gives.

You could easily remove the studs, I'm talking about the shape fitting the indentation in our thirdgen front bumpers.

I have the fourth gen emblem on my bumper and I am also using 4th gen Z28 emblems in the 3rd gen location.

The Z28's took some work, but the "camaro flag" went right in.

post some upclose pics, i don't think that i know the difference between the two. i don't know of a lot of "stock" forth gens...all my buddies with fourthgens are running low 8's or faster, they have since shaved the emblems...

Well, my camera is about 60 miles away from me at the moment, otherwise I'd be all over it for ya. I do have one close up of the forth gen bumper emblem, but the pic is huge (2048 x 1536) and 1.2 meg. I can PM or email that to you if you want it.

I do have some other shots of my car in the thread titled "oldblueZ got a facelift!" in this Body borad. You can check those out, I don't know if they'll help. try my website too http://oldbluez.cz28.com

Basically, the 4th gen is not redesigned, it just looks better. it is basically flat and flexible compared to the 3rd gen. It is also flush to the bumper cover!

HTH,
Jesse

The red white and blue nose emblem for the thirdgens (most) have a dark grey background, the 4ths have a silver background.

I like the thirdgen better. IMHO

OK, I finally got some pics. I know my car is dirty, but that's what happens when it snows. I have more pics on my website, including the 4th gen Z28 emblems in the stock location. http://oldbluez.cz28.com/photo.html Here is one of the nose shots.

Later,
Jesse

THAT IS AWESOME

I thought the 4th gen ones were longer and thinner - I was wrong! I wanted to put an aftermarket 4th gen carbon fiber about 2 months ago but didn't want to waste money if it didn't fit! Now I don't think I want CF, but will definately check out some 4th gen nose emblems, Sweeeeeeeet....

Yup, and it fits right in the hole. The only difference is the fourth gen comes to a point and the thirdgen is a square.

We used emblem tape to stick it on this time and it wasn't flush and the tape didn't stick, so I epoxied it back on and now it is flush with the bumper cover again.
